Types of Independent Audit Reports

An independent audit report contains the independent auditor’s clearly expressed opinion on the entity’s financial statements as a result of the independent audit. This opinion addresses whether the financial statements have been prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework.

Zira bağımsız denetimin amacı; finansal raporlama standartlarına uygun olarak, finansal tabloların tüm önemli yönleriyle gerçeği dürüst bir şekilde yansıtıp yansıtmadığının ortaya konmasıdır.

During the process of forming the independent audit opinion, the independent auditor must obtain sufficient and appropriate independent audit evidence to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements are free from material misstatement.

However, in some cases, the independent auditor may not be able to gather the necessary independent audit evidence due to certain limitations. Circumstances such as the inability to observe physical inventory counts due to the timing of the appointment or the inadequacy of the entity’s accounting records are referred to as a “limitation on scope.” The inability to obtain sufficient independent audit evidence will directly affect the auditor’s opinion.

Another matter that affects the independent auditor’s opinion on the financial statements is a disagreement with the entity’s management on topics such as the selection of certain accounting policies and the adequacy of disclosures.

Identification and Communication: Deficiencies or misstatements identified during the independent audit are primarily communicated to the entity’s management.

Management Approval: If management accepts the adjustment, the misstatement in question can be corrected in the statements before being disclosed to the public.

Disagreement: If management disagrees with the finding, the financial statements are presented in their incomplete or erroneous state, and the auditor’s opinion will not be unmodified.

Our Services

Independent Audit Services

When scope limitations or disagreements with management regarding accounting policies significantly affect the financial statements, the independent auditor cannot express an unmodified opinion. In such cases, depending on the pervasiveness and materiality of the issue, the 4 different types of independent audit reports are as follows:

01

AUDIT REPORT WITH AN UNMODIFIED OPINION

This is the type of report stating that the financial statements present a true, fair, and transparent view, in all material respects, in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework.
02

ADVERSE OPINION REPORT

This is issued when, after obtaining sufficient audit evidence, it is concluded that misstatements, individually or in the aggregate, are both material and pervasive to the financial statements.
03

DISCLAIMER OF OPINION REPORT

This is formulated in cases where the auditor is unable to obtain sufficient and appropriate audit evidence to provide a basis for an opinion, and the potential effects of undetected misstatements on the financial statements could be both material and pervasive.
04

QUALIFIED OPINION REPORT

This is issued when material but non-pervasive misstatements are detected in the financial statements, or when sufficient evidence to express an opinion cannot be found but it is concluded that the potential effects are not pervasive.

If the auditor, in their professional judgment, considers it necessary to draw users’ attention to a matter presented or disclosed in the financial statements that is of such importance that it is fundamental to users’ understanding of the financial statements; provided that sufficient and appropriate audit evidence has been obtained that the financial statements are free from material misstatement, the auditor includes an Emphasis of Matter paragraph in the auditor’s report. This paragraph refers solely to information presented or disclosed in the financial statements.
